From YouTube: Workflow for Updating DXF CNC Cutting Files

Description

This is part of a workflow where 3D assemblies are created from 2D cuts of metal. The 2D pieces are welded into 3D assemblies -
thereby allowing rapid build time.

We make updates in FreeCAD, then we extract the 2D DXF files from the FreeCAD file. Then we replace whichever parts were changed in the 2D DXF file.

Okay, here's a process where we update the actual bxf cam file. These are the cutting files for the brick press parts, so here's all the different arm frame, parts and etc, but say we want to replace something like this part right here, because we updated it or take this wallet. Let's take this one: f2 click ctrl K like if you select something click, ctrl K to deselect it, but if you selected, you can erase it which is by hitting delete so I just deleted it.

Now, if you want to so then then we generated the files from free CAD and here's one example of a file that we generated. This is a 3d, went to 2d using our procedure and then to update the main file.

What you do is click so there's a libre CAD go to file menu and it has import an import, insert block so blocks or just gives you a dialog and that that particular one is mid. Reinforcement plate it's right there and then you just place it right. There.

That's the plate I'm trying to insert, and that is by importing into this file. So let's believe that work, that's the basic workflow, so we go through all the different pieces here using the updated CAD files. We just simply erase one and import a new one. That's it.
