The Philadelphia City Commissioners led a tour for Mayor Jim Kenney, Council President Darrell Clarke, and other local officials to highlight the preparations for the sorting and counting of mail-in ballots at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Election Day.

The city of philadelphia is preparing for a big challenge come election day, counting a huge number of mail-in ballots. Dan koob is at the convention center, where election officials are talking about how that counting process will work. Hi dan.

Hi jess, the city says they've already received 250 000 mail-in ballots, and today they showed us all the new machinery that they hope will lead to an efficient count on election day just a week from tuesday among those new machines, counselors sorters printers amounting to about five million dollars and they're expected to be able to sort more votes in one hour than the city could previously have done in a single day with 40 employees working the ballots will not be touched until election day.

Of course, and at this point the city admits they don't know how long it will take on election night to not only sort and scan in the mail-in ballots, but actually have them counted. I hope to figure that out between now and next tuesday,.

We are happy to be able to do this in an industrialized fashion and we're going to do everything we can and continue to do everything we can to make sure that voters get that valid total that vote total as soon as possible. I.

Don't think we'll have to address that, because I'm clear that these commissioners have done a great job to make sure that we get a reasonable account.

Tampering with this process is something people continue to be skeptical of coming up in the next half hour. We'll have the city's response to that. Skepticism live in center city, dan coops.
