A
We
were
very
pleased
to
have
the
opportunity
to
come
down
to
Philadelphia,
City,
Council
and
brief
Councilwoman
Blackwell
and
the
Education
Committee
about
what
the
governor
proposed
in
Harrisburg
this
past
Tuesday
februari
for
folks
need
to
know
exactly.
What's
in
the
governor's
budget
proposal,
what's
good
for
the
city?
What's
good
for
the
students
was
good
for
school
districts,
low-income
schools
across
the
Commonwealth
of
Pennsylvania
and
what
they're
getting
and
what
they're
not
getting
the
governor's
budget
is
a
proposal.
A
We
have
to
negotiate
that
out
and
hopefully,
by
june
thirtieth,
we'll
have
a
better
understanding
and
agreement,
and
hopefully
low-income
school
districts
across
the
state
can
get
more
money
out
of
the
state.
They've
been
denied
collectively
over
the
last
three
years,
almost
two
billion
dollars
of
funding.
They
need
to
get
a
lot
more
to
get
them
back
to
a
much
more
stable
environment,
so
they
can
educate
our
children.
Now.
A
Working
with
everybody,
absolutely
charter
schools,
it's
about
funding,
it's
about
getting
dollars
in
having
a
fair
system,
but
not
just
having
a
fair
system.
You
have
to
have
a
funded
system.
You
can
have
a
fair
system,
but
if
there's
no
money
coming
in,
there's
no
benefit
to
anybody,
so
we
want
to
work
with
the
whole
entire
education
community
and
make
sure
that
we
get
the
appropriate
dollars.
The
goal
is
to
make
every
school
no
matter
what
school
they
are.
