The historic transition to Proof-of-Stake is complete with relatively zero issues. ICYMI we'll give you the rundown. Once hashing power on the Proof-of-Work chain brought mining difficulty to the TTD, total terminal difficulty, it was the end of an era. Reaching TTD triggered the merge of Ethereum's beacon chain into the running chain and began the Proof-of-Stake on Ethereum as beacon chain validators began to provide attestations of the current state. Within the first 8 minutes from the merge, over 100ETH was burned. Block rewards dropped from 2.5ETH to under 0.1ETH per block. And, Ethereum reduced global energy consumption by 0.2% solely as a result of the merge. Truly a remarkable event.

DeFi Slate Fam:

In the past few months, we’ve seen a proliferation of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations or DAOs for various purposes. However, DAO governance especially in DeFi is still in its infancy stages. Today we got to talk with DXDAO, a DAO that since launching in May of 2019 has developed, governed and grown its suite of DeFi products to over $13.5M in Total Value Locked (TVL).

Thanks to Keenan Luke, the Communications & Marketing Lead and Sky, the Business Development and Partnerships Head at DXDAO, we got a look at what has been going on at DXDAO for the past few years, their accomplishments and the products that they have been developing. We also dove into the current state of community governance and how DXDAO’s transition to a reputation-based governance model has allowed them to continue building open-source and trustless systems as a DAO while also spearheading Governance 2.0.

With the current pitfalls of governance models, the future of governance will certainly include a balance between equity ownership and reputation, and DXDAO will be at the forefront of all this.

Sky Minert, the contributor of DXdao-the first super scalable collective, will picture the future of DAO and explain how will it impact the coordination model in Web3.

DXdao is a DAO of DeFi developers, run in a fully-decentralized, on-chain way. DXdao is responsible for products such as Swapr, a decentralized exchange, and Omen, an on-chain prediction market.

En esta charla Chris Powers habla sobre los sistemas de gobernanza basados en reputación. Comienza revisando los sistemas actuales de gobernanzas, los gobiernos, las empresas o los movimientos sociales y en que se basan.

En ese sentido la tesis de DXDao es que los mejores sistemas de gobernanza en blockchain serán aquellos que mejor representen la gobernanza informal de los movimientos sociales pero en la red, mas que aquellos que representen los modelos de gobernanza corporativos o de gobiernos.

Los modelos de gobernanza mas justos y eficientes serán aquellos que representen modelos basados en reputación.
