Brendan O'Leary - Senior Developer Evangelist, GitLab

ABSTRACT
For all of those grappling with the new reality of remote working, the challenges and opportunities are plentiful. Even for those of us who were working remotely before the current crisis, we have had to adjust our lives in ways we never anticipated. How do you make your life and work well...work...in a post-office world?
In this talk, we'll discuss the tried and true strategies we've discovered at GitLab while building the largest all-remote company in the world. It is important to separate work from life, find a structure that works for you and your loved ones, and allow yourself to try new things quickly. Also, social distance doesn't have to mean losing the social aspect of life. By being intentional about the way you address being remote - either temporarily or for your career - you can avoid burnout and loneliness while finding new ways to leverage your time and be more effective [...]

The clouds have parted and the remote gods have spoken. Meet my friend Darren Murph https://www.linkedin.com/in/darrenmurph/, Head of Remote for GitLab. A company that was awesome at remote before it became cool. Or, at the very least, before it was forced on us. 😬

A company, and its leadership, have an obligation to provide an environment where performance and humanity can thrive. I know it's tough. You've been scrappy and we commend you. But, now it's time to move from scrappy to sustainable. From surviving to thriving.

Darren and our host, Anna Oakes, get that this takes intentionality and great ideas. They've got you covered as we #borrowfromthebest.

Bi-weekly connect to discuss our content journeys and campaign planning as aligned to FY21-22 Segment Marketing Plan, in addition to relevant content-related topics (for example, the transition to compelling ungated content journeys).

This will be a high-level collaboration to gain alignment between managers of teams producing content, and teams utilizing content throughout full-funnel campaigns.

Jackie, Manager of Campaigns Team (Demand Gen).

Not really sure who will find this video helpful, but I created this in response to a lot of great questions and conversations with various teams and individuals in the past week related to the Segment Marketing Plan.

Just brain dumping my understanding of the segment plan - I'd love to hear thoughts on different interpretations, other questions this brings about, and transparently discuss where we're headed.

I also touch on the ungating concept, which is still very much work-in-progress and I'll go into more detail in another video and after discussing with the relevant teams/team members.

This is a first go at diagraming some example channels and tactics in relation to the funnel, and I anticipate that as we work together, collaborate, and plan, this will be iterated over time.

Welcome feedback! Here's an issue to track questions if you have them (whoever happens lands on this): https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/marketing/demand-generation/campaigns/-/issues/50

GitLab vs. Jenkins: Cure Your PlugIn Overload (Webinar)
No third party plugin headaches
This is a rare opportunity to attend a very informative and interesting webinar from GitLab, presented by Itzik Gan-Baruch, Technical Marketing Manager at GitLab.

Jenkins plugins vary in quality and may lose support without notice, which is a nightmare for you and your team. See how GitLab’s seamless workflow between SCM & CI helps your team do better work at greater speeds.

Reduce Risk
Jenkins users frequently experience service instability from running bigger workloads with a large number of plugins. Learn how GitLab decreases toolchain downtime and eliminates risky integrations.

Lower Cost & Increase Efficiency
Jenkins requires dedicated resources, admins, and maintenance – increasing the total cost of ownership. GitLab requires fewer steps to deploy code and developers spend more time writing code and less time maintaining the toolchain.
